“I like coming to Blossom wellbeing sessions as it gives me a safe space to relax after a hard day of school. Everyone is really friendly and it’s a nice and chilled atmosphere”.

What lovely words from one of the young women who attends our weekly drop-in sessions.  Whether we are discussing current topics or the latest Tik Tok, making dream catchers and eating snacks or hearing about how we can stay healthy we all agree it’s much more fun doing it together.

The Blossom project offers support for young women aged 13-24 and up to 25 for those with additional needs, living both directly within the Stockton Council area, and more broadly across the Tees Valley.  Sadly, there is significant demand for our service, and we know firsthand the impact of waiting lists on health and wellbeing.

Within Blossom we are passionate about promoting the wellbeing of young women in our community. For all those referred to our service, we are offering weekly wellbeing and education sessions at a variety of times for different age groups.  During these sessions young women will have a chance to gain peer support from those who have had similar experiences and learn about important topics such as personal safety, women’s health, healthy relationships as examples.  Young women will also be offered wellbeing sessions designed to help increase self-esteem and providing a safe space to discuss topics that are meaningful to them and to improve their emotional wellbeing. These sessions can include therapeutic input from our resident therapists. At A Way Out we are both passionate and committed to providing an environment that is both trauma informed and responsive to the needs of the young women we work with.
