The 8th of March will mark International Women’s Day and A Way Out will be celebrating this day by sharing experiences of injustice and inequalities tackled by women on an everyday basis.
A Way Out is an outreach, intervention and prevention charity run by women, for women, (also offering a holistic wrap around support for the families and children of the women accessing our services).
Inequality is a challenge many of our clients face as they address trauma, fight for support with housing, mental health, addictions and having their voices heard. As a service, it is our role to empower and equip those we work with by supporting them to access help for immediate needs and by giving women a voice.
To mark the occasion, A Way Out will be collaborating with The Treehouse Tearoom in Stockton to run a networking event.
The event will take place from 4pm-6pm. Tickets are on sale for £10.
The global theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #EmbraceEquality, one very close to our hearts as we aim to engage and equip vulnerable women, families, and young people from across Teesside live lives free from harm, abuse and exploitation.
The event will include local women sharing stories about their own personal and professional challenges due to facing inequality and how they have overcome these situations. The event will also include how, as women, we can support and empower one another to overcome similar situations.
There will be afternoon tea style nibbles, games, and a great chance to get to know other women in the local area, alongside getting to know more about A Way out as a charity.
If you would like to find out more about how you can get involved, or how to purchase tickets, please contact info@awayout.co.uk.
